I am excited to see the guys play this weekend. It appears we have as many as 6 guys in camp vying for two senior roster spots. It should be exciting to see what we look like in the midfield. Hopefully, our midfield replacements are in camp now.

I also appreciate that he wasn't trying to break the bank with his contract. He's making an excellent living, doing what he loves, and guaranteeing his future. He didn't try and hold the Dynamo hostage for an over-the-top contract that would cash st…

SEASON FIVE IS HERE: A PRE-SEASON REPORT FROM THE COO

Editor’s Note: Chris Canetti is the Chief Operating Officer for the Dynamo. He provides regular blogs to provide fans with an insight into what's happening with the club.

Sorry it's been a while since my last blog. With training camp opening today (Monday), I thought it would be a good time to touch base again.

Let me start by covering our roster. We currently have 22 players under contract and four non-contracted players invited into pre-season camp. Per MLS rules, we can carry a maxim… Continue

CANETTI: REFLECTING ON THE BRIAN CHING SIGNING

Building a winning team is like making a puzzle. There are many pieces that need to fit just right.

Sometimes those pieces are interchangeable, and other times they are consistent. We have had a mixture of new pieces and fixed pieces on our roster over the years. Fortunately, those pieces have fit together very well to make up a winning side.

Brian Ching is one of the key pieces - a solid fixture.

I am very excited to have this crucial piece in place for the foreseeable future (through 2013).… Continue

CANETTI: HELPFUL INFORMATION FOR SEASON TICKET HOLDERS

Dear Season Ticket Holders,

Welcome to the most exciting time of the year for Dynamo soccer!

It’s the stretch-run of the MLS regular season; the CONCACAF Champions League is hitting its peak, and the playoffs are right around the corner.

While it’s a great time and a busy period, I understand that it is a confusing time for season ticket holders. All of the action can be hard to follow as we tend to hit you with a lot of information about your season ticket account. The purpose of this letter… Continue

CANETTI: INSIDE THE LANDIN DEAL

As you know by now, we signed our first designated player in Luis Angel Landin. It is a landmark moment for the Dynamo organization and its fans.

Landin, a 24-year-old forward, comes to us via the Mexican First Division, where he has played at Pachuca, Morelia, and Cruz Azul. He also has five caps with the Mexican national team. He is here on a 16-month loan, making him a member of the Dynamo organization for the rest of 2009 and all of 2010. There is a club option to extend the deal beyond tha… Continue

ODDS & ENDS FROM CHRIS CANETTI - A BUSY AND EXCITING DYNAMO WORLD

The team returned to the training pitch Wednesday after two days of much-needed and well-deserved rest. Given that, I thought it would be a good time for me to return to the blogging world of MyDynamo.net. Sorry it’s been so long. It’s been a very hectic time in DynamoLand.

First and foremost, we are pleased to be sitting at the top of the MLS and Western Conference tables. Despite being faced with a series of challenges over the last eight weeks, including injuries, call-ups, suspensions, etc.… Continue

Chis..I just think if Kei had issues with team mates or it messed up the locker room it's best to come clean and not let your fan base go WTH !
It just seems to me we didn't go all out for the CCL. I know Dom thinks MLS Cup first... but CCL means more to the fanbase than you think. With Landin being cap tied , Weaver hurt, Ching banged up and Odura not producing it just seemed like we gave up on the CCL. It suxs when teams that have no business repn CONCACAF like Atlante are going to the World Club Cup finals to play teams like Barca.. pls that makes the MLS look weak!

Chris... couple questions about our pre game videos

When can we expect another cool video like the Braveheart or 300 ones we had in years past? I think they we awesome and got the crowd pumped up!

Second question is can you send me those videos??? I'd love to see them again and have looked for them on YouTube, etc but can't seem to find them!

Let me know,
Thanks,
Steve

Chris,

I just had a positive experience w/ my service rep, Nancy Gonzalez, so I wanted you to know about it.

She helped get me my STH player jersey for signing up early last year. It must have gotten overlooked, but she gladly took care of it, and added a couple of other promotional items as well.

She has stepped in seamlessly after Cedric's departure, and has been a big help to me.

I know it takes good team players, not only on the field, but also thru out the organization. You've got one in Nancy.

BTW, thanks for the STH special present last week. The coasters are great, I've already put them to use.

Keep up the good work.

Chris, thanks for posting and dealing with the issues openly and in this forum. I trust all parties involved don't want to see this happen again ever, so spending more time with all parties is neccessary. I view this as part of your job (which by the way, you are doing very well), and I'm sure that for the best team, the best fans, and the best organization in MLS, all parties will come together and find acceptable solutions, protocol, standards, etc to insure the best possible game experience for everyone. Keep up the good work.

I have to say, I'm shocked and extremely excited. I'll be looking for the details as to how Houston was able to pull this off...as much as you can tell us anyway. :D

Agreed that the midfield needs strengthening up and Cameron being out is huge right now. I have said this before. I think the Dynamo can't even get an exhibition game with a european team. We are destined to play Pachuca for the foreseeable future.…

Really the only thing we can talk about is defense. Defense keeps us from losing games. I do believe we can live with constant ties, but we can't afford anymore loses for the rest of the season.
