Devin and I made it to Pachuca ok this afternoon and are checked into the Holiday Inn and will be heading to the game in a couple of hours. Got high hopes for this one, I think it´s gonna happen this evening.

oh goodie! Here I was thinking that DynamoTraveler and I would be the only ones going. We've booked our airfare and we're staying at the Holiday Inn which is walking distance from the stadium.

by bus.

the Mexico City to Pachuca busses leave from the Benito Juarez Airport and the Central de Autobuses Norte station (the main bus station in the northern part of the city). the bus ride is clean, comfortable and takes about 45 minute (more in heavy traffic) from Mexico City to Pachuca station. if i were you i would check at the airport when you arrive as you will be travelling on a national holiday. so you may have to reserve a seat and also the busses may run less frequent.

when you get to the Pachuca bus station and you exit the main entrance, Hidalgo Stadium is about 100 feet to your right where that street dead ends into a major intersection. it sits on top of an old rock quarry, so you really don't see the stadium just a huge rock wall.

if you look on the left side of this picture, after the rock formation that sits across the street from the stadium. that flat long building next to it is bus station. if you follow that street further up that multi-story white building is the holiday inn.

As of today, if you leave on September 16 and return on the 17th, the round-trip price is $536. If you leave on the 16th and return on the 18th, the price round-trip is $274 but requires an extra night's hotel stay.

Rey, how did you get back and forth from Mexico City to Pachuca?
