"The USA Bid Committee will conclude its eight-month host city selection process by unveiling on Tuesday the list of 18 cities to be included in the official United States bid book due to FIFA.

The announcement will be made at the ESPNZONE in Times Square on Tuesday, January 12th at 3:20 p.m. ET.

These 18 cities will represent the United States in the national bid and continue working with the USA Bid Committee on the development and promotion of the local and national campaigns leading up to FIFA's awarding of the 2018 and 2022 tournaments on December 2, 2010.

Among those on hand for the event will be U.S. Soccer President and USA Bid Committee Chairman Sunil Gulati and USA Bid Committee Executive Director David Downs."

In just under 4 hours at 2:20pm, Houston will know (obviously already has) it is in the bid for either the 2018 or 2022 World Cup. It will give Houston 10-12 years to prepare and blow the minds of the FIFA officials and make Houston forget about football, baseball, and basketball.

Nashville an Indy confuse me, but I guess it's because of their stadia, eh?

Yeah...they confused me, too. Dallas and Houston should do a joint bid.

Nah. Let them have a game and us have a game, but not at the same time. Then we could conceivably go to both! (Which I guess sounds kinda greedy, eh?)

I think Dallas could have a win-win situation...... One of the Stipulations for a city to hold the Finals or the Opening game is that the city must have a stadium that can accomodate 80,000 plus people...... That Cowboy Stadium has got it hands down..... It was nice hearing them say Reliant Stadium when they said Houston. We "do" have one of the top stadiums for the World Cup.......fingers-crossed.

I still find it funny how Dallas spent $1billion to potentially host the World Cup. Kind of what New York has with the new Yankee Stadium.

Great time last night at the All Star v Man U game. Excellent atmosphere and venue. Had a great time. Man U was classic and the All Stars (in the first half anyway) looked like it was an exhibition.  The Dynamo connection was very apparent as Ching…

Agreed that the midfield needs strengthening up and Cameron being out is huge right now. I have said this before. I think the Dynamo can't even get an exhibition game with a european team. We are destined to play Pachuca for the foreseeable future.…

Really the only thing we can talk about is defense. Defense keeps us from losing games. I do believe we can live with constant ties, but we can't afford anymore loses for the rest of the season.
